So Cal Viniyoga
Yoga can provide the means of bringing out the best that is inherent
in each of us. This process requires understanding of our present conditions,
our intended goals and the appropriate means to achieve them. Over the
course of Viniyoga study, the principles and techniques of asana (physical postures),
pranayama (breathing), and sound are all important.
Through discussion and practice, these concepts are woven together allowing you to
integrate them into your daily personal practice.
A key concept in Viniyoga is that a yoga practice must be tailored for each individual
based on their present physical, spiritual, and emotional conditions. No two bodies are the same;
therefore, no single yoga practice or pose can be designed to meet everybody's needs.
Another key concept is that the breath is the core of the practice especially for people in the mid-day stage of life which
falls between age 25 to age 65 approximately. This is much more than making sure that
you breath during asana practice. It means to put your focus on the breath and moving with
the breath.
